Job Summary

We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Sales and Business Development Exectuive to play a vital role in leading Montalis Fine Foods’ on the ground operations in Toronto, Ontario. This involves identifying and engaging potential customers, orchestrating sales initiatives, and nurturing positive customer connections. The Sales and Business Development Executive duties encompass driving sales efforts, feeding market intelligence to our technical teams,, managing various administrative projects, and nurturing a healthy pipeline of clients and partners on the ground.

As Sales and Busines Development Exectuive at Montalis Fine Foods you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful distribution and sales of our food products to distributors and retailers across the GTA. Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of sales coordination and support to achieve our business objectives, so it’s important to exhibit outstanding organizational and administrative abilities, adept problem-solving skills, and strong communication, interpersonal, and customer support aptitude.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Drive Montalis’ sales and business development efforts on the ground.
  • Reach out to potential customers to schedule samplings, soliciting feedback, and communicating that with the technical teams.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential distributors, retailers, and other potential customer segments.
  • Analyze market trends, consumer preferences, and regulatory requirements when needed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors and retailers.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally.
  • Assist the team in preparing sales materials, presentations, and proposals.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and execute sales strategies.
  • Coordinate the processing of orders from distributors and retailers.
  • Ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
  • Work closely with logistics partners to coordinate the timely delivery of products.
  • Provide training and support to distributor and retailer sales teams on product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Explore opportunities for expanding the product line or entering new market segments.
  • Identify potential partnerships or collaborations to enhance sales efforts.
  • Have a general supportive attitude to offer guidance and assistance to resolve any issues that may arise.

Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a proactive, driven self-starter with a get-it-done attitude. Ideally, the candidate would have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, marketing, or other related field.
  • At least 2 -5 years of sales experience.
  • Experience in food and/or distribution sectors is a strong asset. 
  • Previous experience as a sales coordinator or in administration can be a plus.
  • Strong team development and leadership skills.
  • Excellent administrative, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding communication, sales, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask, work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and regulations. An analytical and data-driven orientation with a commitment to testing and measuring effectiveness of campaigns and programs.
  • Sharp attention to detail.


Compensation for this position will be part base salary and part performance-based commission. Details to be discussed with short-listed candidates.
